Perpetual Fire Poem by Jasmine Wayne

Perpetual Fire

Rating: 5.0

They say it shall fade as a long winter day
Why does it depart leaving my world so gray
A feeling from within is my mind so wrong
Recalling one sonnet such a splendorous song

They say it shall go like a dream in the night
With each passing moment why does it fight
As I try to hide this from this lust of my soul
The truth shows light shall I never be whole

They say love shall rise once more in due time
Deep inside it now stirs something truly sublime
Throughout it now burns this passion so strong
It has never faded, this love for you all along
