Perhaps I Did It Once Poem by Shalom Freedman

Perhaps I Did It Once

Perhaps I did it once
And can no longer do it
Perhaps I never did it
And only fool myself
To think I did
Perhaps I simply never had the ability
To do it
Perhaps I am in a difficult time
And I will come back to myself again
Perhaps there is nothing to come back to
Perhaps there is only a short time left
And it does not matter anyway
Perhaps I will come back
And do it again
And end in the fullness of my power
In happiness as the best I have ever been
Perhaps I will and perhaps I won't
Perhaps I did and perhaps I never will
Perhaps
The end is coming
Perhaps it will be sooner than I think
Perhaps it will not
