Perfume And Pomade Poem by Frankie Renae

Perfume And Pomade

I watch the window to your life
explore the things you try…
welcome back
to the things you didn't always catch
you didn't see
and somehow…
you reached seventeen
without the same things
I know now, darling
don't give up on me

chorus:
like there are perfect decades
I've yet to feel them come true
you may not know me
but I don’t know you
made of perfume and pomade, you see
what do you think the morning means
with bright lights that blare you out
colors who wear your eyes down
you are beautiful

I watch the window to your life
and the reflection smiles...
waiting back
for you to come out and see it
quit, quit thinkin'
that your scars...
are more beautiful
I know who you are
and you are so full
of things I call on

chorus

you prob'ly can't see it just yet
waitin' on that window…
you don't know
you can cutomize your settings
in stereo
blare it out…
you're more beautiful
I know who you are
and He so loves you
call you gloria

like there are perfect decades
I've yet to feel them come true
somewhere grace knows me
but you're the only
made of perfume and pomade, you see
what do you think the morning means
with bright lights that blare you out
colors who wear your eyes 'round
really were like me all along

but you are beautiful
