Perfidy Poem by Oyekake Satty (O S) Joshua

Perfidy

I avowed to forget you then
Even as your presence gnaws
And the void grew stronger
But my heart betrayed me
With unrelenting prodding
Against strong protestation

So I inquired from my heart
I questioned this disloyalty
And my heart responded thus:
“I was inclined by another,
Greater that you and I,
I could do no other but oblige”
