Perfectly Okay

It took from me a long time to learn from my mistakes,
and it'd take from me the longest time to feel okay.

but, finally I can see that I was wrong
no time to waste, get ready to be strong

Oh, C'mon...!

dry your tears, smile and throw the pain away
oh, babe... let's dream and let it go, let's make it a better day
let's fly with birds, dance in the rain... let's scream our names
let's show the world that we exist, that we're perfectly Ok.

They judge us for who we are
sadly, they don't know that we don't care

Oh, we're not toys for them to play
not a joke for them to laugh...
we're not some things they throw away
Yeah, we're leaving... we had enough.

So, dry your tears, smile and throw the pain away
oh, babe... let's dream and let it go, let's make it a better day
let's fly with birds, dance in the rain... let's scream our names
let's show the world that we exist, that we're perfectly Ok.

I know... oh, oh, oh
It's hard to let it go... oh, oh, oh
and you'd do anything to get it back.

but babe, you should know... oh, oh, oh
that letting go... oh, oh, oh
is a part of getting back - (and you'll get your old self back)

Oh, C'mon...!

dry your tears, smile and throw the pain away
oh, babe... let's dream and let it go, let's make it a better day
let's fly with birds, dance in the rain... let's scream our names
let's show the world that we exist, that we're perfectly Ok.

- we're perfectly okay... oh, perfectly okay -
- we're perfectly okay... oh, perfectly okay -

And it'd take from me the longest time to feel ok.

poet James Whitcomb Riley

There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
