Perfect Flower Poem by Fiona Davidson

Perfect Flower

Once I held the perfect flower
Here within my gentle hands
Love blossomed so beautifully
Only to die before the morning sun

Nurtured by the tenderness
I have within my hearts core
Rainbow colours appeared
To flow over each velvet petal

Suddenly that river ceased
Was taken from my soul
All that's left is shattered
Pieces upon the floor now

Grasp well the things you need
Leave all else outside the door

This is a hauntingly beautiful poem, Fi, one that is very expressive, not only in what it says, but also in what it does not say. Despite it's sad tone, this was a remarkably well written poem. As always, your poems are very unique and a pleasure to read. Carl.
