'People I Met With' Poem by Queeny Gona

'People I Met With'

Rating: 5.0

The Conductor:

With eyes opened wide
looked for the poor man;
With no reservation at that late night
Demanded 50 bucks to have his seat.
What a pity!

The Postman:

A Gentleman! with sarcastic smile
Stepped in; Candidates signature is must!
Being the argument:
Demanded 30 bucks to handover the call letter.
What a pity!

The traffic Police:

Another Gentleman, with full rage
Caught the first pray early in the morning,
Grabbing the driving license,
Demanded 300 bucks to return it.
What a pity!

It is really a pity that corruption is so rampant in society. But there are so many good people in every sphere of life who give their life for the sake of society. They honestly do their duties.I came across a traffic police who was on duty.It was too rush on the crossing. An elderly beggar in tattered clothes stood there helplessly to cross the street. The traffic police held his hand without any hesitation and helped him to cross the street. There are people who truly care for others.Let us hope their number increase. Thanks for sharing your poem on the social issue 'corruption'

I agree with Valsa... Govt. is not reliable... We all should involve by way of what we know: poetry

Corruption and bribery have become the norm of public life! What can be done to stop this greed..... No govt. comes up with a solution!
