Peacock's Symphony - A Villanelle Poem by Sheri Green

Peacock's Symphony - A Villanelle

Feathered whisperers, colored jewels of the sea
All seeing eyes, deliver me from this impiety
Cry unto to me, crowing your redeeming cacophony

Guide me down the road of wisdom's immortality
For I have lost all sense to this inimical blasphemy
Feathered whisperers, colored jewels of the sea

Messengers of the eternal divinity, harken my plea
My hearts unrest sinks ever into this infernal fantasy
Cry unto to me, crowing your redeeming cacophony

Often have I gone down the past of what will be
And found myself trapped by that which is decreed
Feathered whisperers, colored jewels of the sea

Spinning in a maelstrom, ever wishing to be free
searching for the true course, that one crystal key
Cry unto to me, crowing your redeeming cacophony

Unlock the doors to the temple of mine deity
Freeing the bonds that has kept me from thee
Feathered whisperers, colored jewels of the sea
Cry unto to me, crowing your redeeming cacophony
