Peace Of Mind Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Peace Of Mind

O peace! give me the pace to have a glimpse of you!
Elusive you are! Leaving illusions all around!

Temples and Mosques, Churches and Asylums
Wander the mortals in quest of reaching your portals

Men and Women, rich and the poor, scholars and scoundrels
Submit their prejudice for seeking a nap on your lap

Millions and billions may swell the coffers
There dwells a hell when your stay is put to nil

Comforts and luxuries, power and authority
Seldom fetch the joy of your ever soothing serenity

Greed less minds, compassionate hearts, unruffled souls in joy and grief
Are the ones after whom you run seeking an abode for you to rest
