Peace At Last Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

Peace At Last

Rating: 5.0

All is quiet along the devastative land,
As the exhausted combatants rest.
The dark war clouds dissipate in the sky,
While a lasting peace is the primary quest.
It is prudent to negotiate in good faith,
And to restore the opportunity to be free,
To instill the hopes and wishes of the people
To the uttermost ends for everyone to forsee.
Peace! As the promising word is spread,
Silencing those who were on the war hunt,
Peace at last is the long and repetitive cry,
Reverberating along the length of the front.
As the eyes of the weary people sparkle,
Hearing of peace with a joyful release,
From men and women - lip to lip it's,
' Peace at last! Hostilities will cease! '
