Peace Poem by Mary young

Peace

Rating: 5.0

I don't know what I want when I look at you
Tough boy in your blue jeans stance bald and fifty
Opposites play off inside the soft parts of my brain
To make sense of you is to solve a rubrics cube
Only to turn the sides and start again confused.
I ache for you to smile at me
Frustrated at the very thought
Of your carefully feigned indifference
But happy with the fleeting window
Behind a careless glance of insecurity.
