Paved Gardens Poem by Alejandro Torres

Paved Gardens

Have there been days
When I’ve crossed your mind
Or was I just another face
In the plethora
Chasing after a treasure
If a breath
Consisted of a lie
Would you spare me one
To keep the dream alive
Id prefer the artificial atmosphere
Than your sincerity
If I was one of those hopeless few
But between the two
Is a fine line
One we cant swear to a God
Or Goddess about
I’ve been the silent mystery
We’d spend a lifetime
Trying to figure out
But I’d cut a path
Through your mind
And pick a flower
Along the way
We could smell the sweet seduction
Together
And dip our feet in the soil
Just for a quick taste
Of immortality
Just for an eternity
Of love
