Patriotic, Moronic Poem by Jennifer K

Patriotic, Moronic

Rating: 4.8

Learning about our perfect nation, I'm brainwashed -
Red for our countrymen's valor
White for innocence and purity
and Blue for unbending justice.

Looking back, I can't help but laugh.

Living in America, I'm shown -
Red for unneccesary blood shed to be feared
White for the enemy's surrender
and Blue for the tears of all the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, wives, and husbands who lost someone they loved.

They folded out flag of red, white, and blue today.
Gave it to your mother.
Your death was for nothing.
Your death was for your country.

Great write. Disgusting lies from politicians resulting in only misery And still this brings along a huge responsibility. Poems like this may contribute their small but significant part to a better world. People with insights like this cannot remain quiet.

I love the idea to see an american girl hating the whole war deal. I have an american friend in class and even though he's like 28 or something he was a soldier, he's kind of poor or something and he's a republican and he loves war and the idea of bringing civilization to uncivilized people. uncivilized for whom? that's the question. thank god the guy is good people in spite of that fact. anyways, love the poem,10

Satirical and true. War is a waste of loved lives. Brainwashing is happening everywhere. They just don't understand that the more they try to promote loyalty to the country, the more we detest.
