Patience With Love Poem by Mixo Malepfane

Patience With Love

I was patience with my love
I cared for it with the hope of being loved
But i forgot that love could not talk
And i thought that doing was stronger than saying

My hope of true love died with these words
I only love you as a friend
All the questions i asked had the same answer
You are only but a mere friend

I thought you knew me
I thought you could see me
I thought you felt my love
I thought you could read my words before i said them

Don’t i deserve your love?
Don’t i deserve to make you happy?
Don’t i deserve to look at you and wonder how?

I died once because of love
It is only now that i have severed the umbilical cord
Being a child is like walking in a jungle without a map
But i have grown to know love is both a curse and a blessing
A blessing to the one loved and a curse to the one loving

We could have been immortal
Maybe you knew i loved you too much
Or were you protecting me from you
You are a true friend indeed
