In the flower of youth
with open heart
I stepped forth...

I remain the winner
over youth's brutality
though mournful the feelings.

But defeat begins
gnawing away at me
tainting my open heart...

From that day onward
Heart's thirst I quench
In my tears for peace...

I can not accept
nor refuse to see
Pashto ever defeated.
