Parting Ways Poem by Paul Sebastian

Parting Ways

You fade into irretrievable past
Leaving etched memories to last
Jewels of thoughts to treasure
Precious moments to savour:
Child-like laughter
Wide-eyed anger
Dreamy distanced stare
Innocent expressions, bare
Wind-blown unkempt hair
Finger-combed wet hair
Wide smile flashing neat teeth
Beaming joy whenever you greet
Your caring nature
Your loving stature
Your words that comfort
Your reassuring support
Your heart-felt real sharing
Your heart-felt reaching
Your touch's meaningful
Your heart's often tearful
Your presence inspires
Your presence revives
Yet, you have chosen to fade
How alone, could I bare to make
You've become my second nature
Without you, I cannot picture
Yet you chose a path to fade
Leaving me in a lost state

Yet, we must part ways
Break our entangled sways
You seek an ambition
I seek a destination
I pray you'll always prosper
Goodbye, friend, my dear!
