Paranoid Poem by Warren Augustus de Guzman

Paranoid

Rating: 1.0

I close my eyes
And I see them
All mocking me
In their bright white barongs
And their bright painted faces of synthetic beauty
Mocking me and my position
My every word
My every move
My every gesture
Mocking me with my eyes closed

So I open my eyes.
And they all go back to acting normal
As if I didn’t know they were mocking me
As if I didn’t hear the whispers in my head.
I see them mocking me so clearly
But only when my eyes are closed

If only I could catch them with my eyes.
If only I could catch them with my eyes.
