Paradox Poem by Paula Glynn

Paradox

I am a thief, yet I am a giver,
I am a psychopath, yet I am an empath,
I tell horror stories, yet I tell happy stories,
I am the devil, yet I am god,
I am a demon, yet I am an angel,
I kill, yet I save,
I am dark, yet I am light,
I am a liar, yet I am truthful,
I am a coward, yet I am a hero,
I am an actor, yet I am real,
I steal riches, yet make those rich,
I am a stone, yet I am a diamond,
I am poor, yet I am rich,
I am fire, yet I am water,
I am dust, yet I am alive,
I am dead, yet I am born,
I lack desire, yet I create desire,
I put some hell, yet take those into heaven,
I am dirty, yet I am clean,
I feel hate, yet I feel love,
I am religious, yet I have no religion,
I abandon, yet I comfort,
I am nothing, yet I am all there is,
I am the end of time, yet start time,
I am female, yet I am male,
I am poison, yet I am medicine,
I make some cold, yet give warmth,
I am hot, yet I am cold,
I am shy, yet I am bold,
I am young, yet I am old,
I am the snow, yet I am the sun,
I have lost, yet I have won.

I am wrong, yet I am right,
I am black, yet I am white,
I am nice, yet I am nasty,
I create, yet I destroy,
I am positive, yet I am negative,
I am asleep, yet I am awake,
I am blind, yet I can see,
I am deaf, yet I can hear,
I am silent, yet I have a voice,
I am aggressive, yet I am passive,
I am chaos, yet I am order,
I am confused, yet I am clear-headed,
I am hardworking, yet I am lazy,
I am a dreamer, yet I am practical,
I am ugly, yet I am beautiful,
I am slow, yet I am fast,
I am sweet, yet I am sour,
I am night, yet I am day,
I am queen, yet I am king,
I am a joker, yet I am a fool,
I am a birthday, yet I am a funeral.

I am the paradox.
