Paper petals in pastel peach,
as fragile as old parchment;
Clusters hanging out of reach,
a wand for fey enchantment.
Flaming yellow, purple blue,
Bridal cream and Icecream pink;
Magenta shades of every hue,
Blue buds glow like drops of ink.
Along the fence, upon the terrace,
On the fence, along the trellis,
Creeping on the garden walk,
Climbing on its giant stalk.
Lush swathes of Bougainvillea appear,
Summer's here! Summer's here!
