you let me down
thought i could trust you
my smile turned to a frown
now i feel like a fool

i have to hold back now
can't be like it used to be
i just don't understand how
i gave my faith so freely

back to the past
everything is suspect
all you say & do
must be checked

i don't like to wonder
why you're distant from me
are you thinking of her
just where do you want to be?

our bodies are close
but not our hearts
it's you, not me love
that keeps up apart

supposed to be forever
once i was secure
not now though not ever
found out nothing is for sure

my confidence in you is gone
don't know when or if it will be back
if yellow is the color of sunshine
then paint all my days black
