Working like a dog making the best of what I have come to be,
Seeking the luster of white-collar gold making it easier for me,
Held together only by Green Lawn’s precious souls,
Putting down root in a house that is not a home…

It’s hard to take the pain, of time that’s already gone.

Searching for a woman with a blue-collar heart,
That was born with a white-collar soul.
Not knowing parts of us, were in a Green Lawn hole,
I already had that woman, and didn’t even know.
Looking for outer beauty, with no heart or soul,
Looking only at the cover, can take a heavy toll…

It’s hard to take the pain, of time that’s already gone.

I was young and married to a pretty cover, with no heart or soul,
Broken hearted, thinking of my soul mate woman, from long ago,
Thinking of a life with a magic woman, and I didn’t even know,
Dreaming of that woman, in a house that’s not a home,
Haunting soul mate woman, where did you go?
Nights of silence, with so much time that was stole…

It’s hard to take the pain, of time that’s already gone.

Being labeled, by my blue-collar heart,
They never saw my white-collar soul.
Bound together by a child we will never know,
Buried anchor, which scars a deep gaping hole,
Fragments of a jagged past, that haunt your soul,
Looking through a vortex of time that was stole…

It’s hard to take the pain, of time that’s already gone.

Wisdom is costly, with a vortex of time that takes a great toll,
If I could only find that magic soul mate woman from long ago,
When true love is meant to be, a jagged past will fade away,
No matter many years pass, your soul mate is still the same,
Pain of time is lifted, when together once again…
