Pain Of The World Poem by Emily Knight

Pain Of The World

Rating: 0.5

She covers her eyes
Shields her heart from the hurt
She lies down and cries
And hopes that she’ll slip away

It’s the pain of the world
That tosses our dreams aside
We the people pray for life
But we are never given the chance

She’s got a razor in hand
She cuts and breathes in slowly
The physical pain warms her soul
She knows somehow she’s got to go

It’s the pain of the world
That tosses our dreams aside
We the people pray for life
But we are never given the chance

What will you do?
Will you let death take her?
Or will you reach out a willing hand,
And save her?

It’s the pain of the world
That tosses our dreams aside
But we don’t have to give in
And let go of our precious lives
