Ox Poem by Paula Glynn

Ox

Rating: 4.0

I learnt long ago to make it happen,
I had strength and resolve,
I had the constitution of an ox.
I didn't budge, I put up a fight,
And as I get the better of you,
You will see the light.

I am stronger than many,
I am firm and tough,
For they know when I've had enough.
I found the strength within myself,
I found the key to life,
To my success and happiness.

It isn't easy, but I don't move,
I have found my anchor in life,
The waves don't bother me,
And I glide along those waves,
Never feeling seasick,
For the ship of fools is over.

I don't back down, I don't cry,
I had to walk away, and find myself,
I only apologise to myself,
I am only ever looking after myself,
For others want to push me, control me,
But my soul is strong,
And in this life, I sing along,
For I may be an ox,
But I am a happy ox.

There is nothing beyond me,
There is no devil chasing after my soul,
I am the boss of myself,
In this life I take control.
I am all there is,
And I find strength in salvation,
For what was lost is now found,
And my feet remain steady,
On solid ground,
Even when those are losing their minds,
To the stress and strife life can bring,
But I just get up on that stage and sing.

This is the clear truth of life. I felt that poem.
