Overload Poem by bryan wallace

Overload

Mobile phones, Ipads, Thinkpads and Android Tablets.
Text Messages, emails, tweets and Facebook notifications.
Do you ever think that we suffer
From a disease called Communication Over-load?

I don't really care if you had Cornflakes for breakfast
Or that your dog has chewed your Sunday World!
Why do you feel the need, to keep me updated,
With every pointless thing that you think or do
In the sad dreary life that you lead?

If you were genuinely busy working or having fun
You'd not have time to sit glued to your Ipad,
Telling me what a busy and exciting day you've had.
So switch off the phone, shut down the PC,
Look up and open your eyes - you never know
What you might see - you might even see -
Something interesting!

How poignant, as I read this on my iPad, but then again, I'd never have the chance to see it otherwise. Yes, we are inundated with too much info and communication, and balance needs to be restored....where's my front door to the outside world? Great write, keep it up. And please check out my poems too, I'd appreciate it.
