My muse just up and left me,
Didn't even say goodbye;
I sit amid'st my darkness,
Devoid of tears to cry.
I had it until recently,
Had all my words in play
And now my mind is in a funk,
I don't know what to say.
I'm hopeful it will soon return
But, doubtful that it will;
It thinks of me as washed up,
A poet, over the hill.
Perhaps, I've reached my apex
Of what was my greatest thrill;
That leaves me with this sad, sad choice-
Just get on down that hill.
But, if perchance you spot it,
Please, send it back home to me;
I'm sure you would not want it,
It holds no high degree.
It never goes away, it just hibernates a while. I am sorry. But lovely poem
I think mine is taking a break too at the moment, maybe they've gone off together somewhere. Anyway Joseph, I expect they'll come back with their tails between their legs when they need feeding! ! You have done pretty well without her with your poem though - definitely not over the hill.
I think your muse has already returned home, performing very well in this wonderful poem, guess it just needed to take a five minute break. it was very clever and holds a very high degree
Your Muse is with you.Otherwise, you could not have penned such a beautiful poem.
Well colour me happy! I have a muse you can borrow too. I tell you Joseph....we are gonna have a zing back in your step in no time: -)
This beautiful poem is obvious that your muse never left you. Finely set. Really enjoyed this, as with the others.
Washed up poet over the hill.... doubtful that it will; I'm hopeful it will soon return - me too... it was a treat to read.
Quite interesting! ! When ever there is such a lament, the Muse is sure to have a triumphant come back as has happened in the case of Valerie! But we really doubt the authenticity of your statement! Nevertheless this poem is just wonderful! !
Me thinks your muse peeks at you from just behind the door of wonder that this neat little poem has opened...
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
You've just hit a blank spot Joseph - it will return I'm sure.
