Over-Ride Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Over-Ride

Delete perfection to seek it.
We all are a work in progress.
Delete perfection to seek it.
How can perfection be identified,
When mistakes to make...
No one can over-ride.
To deny them from being made.

Pretentious people wish to live to fake it...
With a leaping over reality not to face.
Pretentious people wish to live to fake it...
With an imitating what is perceived to believe.
Pretentious people wish to live to fake,
A life to live and accept as it is...
To over-ride!

Delete perfection to seek it.
Pretentious people wish to live to fake,
A life to live and accept as it is...
To over-ride!

Where does their truth begin when they live,
To over-ride.
And...
What is it they defend,
When...
They over-ride.

Where does their truth begin when they live,
To over-ride.
And...
What is it they defend,
When...
They over-ride.
