Outside The Window Pane Poem by RaShawn Ince

Outside The Window Pane

I use to see a little boy outside the window pane.
He fought the blazing sun and he fought the pouring rain.
He never did anything but sit around and stare.
People passed and saw the boy but no one seemed to care.
He had no family, had no freinds, and all his clothes was such a wreck. He had nothing to his name except for a necklace that hung on his neck.
He had to be around 14 with brownish skin and blackish hair.
A little boy alll alone and no one thought it was unfair.
His face was filled with so much grief and eyes would water up and tear.
Behind the eyes was a life of pain and a life with so much fear.
Except when it came to that necklace, he guarded it with his life.
It kept his mind and body safe through his days of strife.
One day i looked at him thinking of words to say.
So I got up and walked to him to talk to him one day.
I asked where he was from and what was his name.
He said his name was Coz and Africa is where he claimed.
I asked about his necklace, and what it was for.
He said it was a gift from his mom, the day before the war.
