Outside Is Dangerous Poem by Kathryn Ridley

Outside Is Dangerous

There's a violent banging at the door,
moaning comes from outside,
things walk on the roof.

Kids cry for help.
I'm paralyzed in fear,
more moaning,
more banging,
more walking.

A flash of light brights up the room,
faces stare in at me,
with a glint of death in their eyes,
I race upstairs for the kids.

The kids,
oh sweet,
sweet kids.

Don't let them in,
don't let them in,
for outside is dangerous.

Glass scatters the floor,
hands reach inside,
more moaning,
more banging,
more walking,
more screams.

A tree crashes through the front door.
Don't let them in,
don't let them in,
for outside is dangerous.

Their in,
their in,
no where is safe.
