Ours Poem by Quir Diing Jr.

Ours

This land is your land
This land is my land
This land is our
Sudan is meant for you and me
From any border to another
This land is ours.

As I walk that ribbon of highway
I saw above me that
Endless sky way,
Below me that
Silvery Nile valley
This land is ours.

I follow my footsteps
To the sand of the
Golden deserts in the north
And all I can hear was
A voice sounding like
Sudan is your land
Sudan is my land
This land is ours.

One bright day morning
In the Nile bank city
I saw my people
And felt proud of the beautiful skin
As they stood there hungry
I stood there whistling
This land is yours and mine
Nobody alive will ever stop me
As I go walking that freedom
Highway
No living thing can ever
Make me turn back because
This country land is ours.

As we eagerly wait to cast
The freedom vote and celebrate
For the new era of our native land
My vision of making
What I want in my own land
As I imagine sailing across
The mighty river
In the land I have never
Visit since my world welcoming.

Nobody to stop me
Vote for the freedom of
My people
The land was made for us
Like the lion’s den
Let’s celebrate for the victory of
Independence, because
This land is ours.
