Our World Poem by Claude H Oliver II

Our World

This world of illusion
Where what is - is not
What is not - is
Existence - building on solidity of vapidity of transient dreams
Dreams of yesteryear
Yet we fight to prolong illusion
Initiate those to come to our illusion
We own nothing on arrival
We leave with less
All owned is unseen
Yet we wallow deluded by illusion.

Speak not of illusion
Such speech raises hordes of illusion's defenders
Sworn to protection, resistant to light.

What to do - know in your heart that which is
Tend that unseen candle
That lights the path of life.
