Our Words Poem by D A Phinney

Our Words

Our words like quiet raindrops fell
Into the silence of the night;
And a moment of peace was ours to hear,
Without the wind of time's mad rush,
And without a thought of flight.
We met, we touched, I kissed your ear
Into the silence of the night;
A moment's peace was ours to fear,
But instead we held the hush,
Embraced it till the tender light
Of dawn, when, as into a well,
Our words like quiet teardrops fell.
