Our Theater Poem by Yuki Cross

Our Theater

Darkness is a theater
Cracks of sunlight flooding in the curtains
Puppet Master dancing the scene
Cannibals clap in the audience

Shadow boxes, broken glass, cobwebs and all, it won’t last
In the spindle, screaming alive
We are the shadows never consumed
Eating all, including you too

In our theater, death is the way of life

Puppet Master ceases the show top hat
And all, microphone dripping with blood,
On stage he calls his mistress and dove

Silk black hair, chains, spikes, broken hearts and a corset
Her tattooed wings coming alive, peeling away from the skin of her body
Now she can bring the puppets to life

The Cannibals drear with shotguns and knives

Till the dawn boor coffin is safe
The Sirens slumber a bid to waste
