Our Teachers Poem by Dr John Celes

Our Teachers

The magic cast by teachers most
Upon the pupils all –
You never can add up the cost:
Their toil can fill a hall.

The debt you owe to teachers all,
You never in life know;
They helped you scale a lofty wall
Of ignorance, and woe.

The world cannot be teachers’ free,
No matter how you learn;
Parents apart, they grew the tree
Of knowledge, how to earn.

Respect your teachers all through life;
They ask some enquiry;
They are our angels amidst strife,
Who wrote our life’s diary.
