Our Pursuer Poem by Timothy muggaga

Our Pursuer

Rating: 3.5

Who holds men by the throat?
When the bells of dawn ring
And pulls them out of the covers
From the warmth and comfort of sleep
Into the cold night

He comes running- our pursuer
Hidden in the darkness of fear
Buried in the shadows of anxiety
And hence, men arise to take off.
Into the uncertain future.

Our pursuer-fate
Who’ll cover our caskets one day
When we finally say ‘it’s finished’
He pulls the curtains and the drama is finished.

Into the pit of evil, we make haste
Because our pursuer is the trapper
He is bold and daring
As if nothing else is of concern
but our pursuer.
