Our Politicians Poem by Rajendra padhi

Our Politicians

The wit and charm of sprightly girls
The soft endearing voice,
Like dancers on the stage
In attentive gestures and postures,
In every five years they appear
Hold new promises in words they speak.
An onion, a green chilli and rice for all
Living under the sky,
Petticoats for girls, gold for rich
Works for people lined up in the streets,
Milk for children sick to appear
Reflect all problems like wall-mirror,
They keep away from a tantalizing past
Best braggarts unconscious of what they say
Verily naked in words from their neck,
People are rarest of the rare
Believe a rainbow at night,
Promises are short to stay
Like a bird on the bough of a tree
But amazing, beautiful and lovely.
