Our Dear Blue And Red Flag Is Wailing Poem by Hebert Logerie

Our Dear Blue And Red Flag Is Wailing

Rating: 5.0

After so many years
I dare not reciting
Counting and recounting
We too feel the tears
Of an abused and mutilated flag
Which is our soul, next to kin,
Body, mind, breath and skin.

Our beloved bicolor flag is drooling
Our soul is shaken and our pride dying
We are flabbergasted, shocked, and scared
Of everything: thieves, zombies, chaos
Macoutes, kidnappers, zobobs, and lavalas
Who are strolling like spoiled earthworms
Like rapidly decaying or soiled carrions
This is the decisive moment to pass into action.

Our people are humiliated and zombified
By the toxic molasses and the fake leaders
The hypocrites are shamelessly mystified
They massacred and caressed the frailed elders
They glanced at us like hornswoggled snakes
Whose legs were as scary as the octopuses'
And whose pockets were full with bribes and worms
Oh! My God, the state coffers are empty and filthy.

In spite all, our dear bicolor remains resilient
Floating on the poll of the national palace in ruins
Where flies and rodents growl like crazy ants
And where officials scratch next to the latrines
Which were fractured on purpose by the boogeymen
Oh! Darn, damn, we will never live in peace
As long as injustice and poverty exist
As long as corruption and ignorance remain.
