Ostrich Men Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Ostrich Men

Ostrich bury their heads on sand
Denying realities adversely at hand.

Ducking down the easy escape from light
Their sand holes cover obstacles from sight.

Some men in leadership may be ostrich men
They parlay the necessity to face truth and then

Mislead their countrymen in fatal delusions
All the while preaching their vague misconceptions.

Though warned and informed, they seem comatose
Unable with logic, to scrutinize, I suppose

The warnings were given but they failed so to act
Now they censure the information and hide all the facts.

What then do we do to these ostrich men?
I suggest cut their heads off, throw them out the pen.
