Originality Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Originality

Touched upon is every subject
touched upon is every theme
left out are nothing except paled ones
leaving apart the modern trends
copied is every work in concealed styles
souls of those famed legends
can lay their claim on most of our works
foot steps of theirs we follow on our heels
base may be same theme may be same
flow is different styles are varied
nothing is original! nothing is spurious
we imbibe the qualities of generations before!

Thoughtful write Sir. Very true said in few lines... nothing is original! nothing is spurious we imbibe the qualities of generations before! Very true said, we read the original works of poets, who wrote poems before our generations and we rewrite using the same theme but with different style or rhymes. This too will be followed by next generations also. I loved the way you presented the bitter truth. Loved reading it. Thanks for sharing with us.
