Oratory To Ophelia

Awakened Warriors
Lost in time

Secret societies
Of the blind

Casting shadows
On the mind

Incantations
Show the way

Castings spells
Amid the day

From the darkness
Fall away

Voices now
Are heard to say

Freedom’s song
Is here to stay

Dancing shadows
In in the moon

Marching to
Another tune

Leaving ashes
In the ruins

Cosmic wonder
Is found here

Within the soul
of one so near

In forsaking
All our fear

We find the place
that we hold dear.

Poem of the Day

poet Charles Stuart Calverley

He stood, a worn-out City clerk —
Who'd toil'd, and seen no holiday,
For forty years from dawn to dark —
