Oracle Poem by Naveed Khalid

Oracle

I'll not speak to thee by what I write,
Of eyes so blind to my mind still unawares;
More blessed by what I know not,
Nor need to know what can ne'er be,
This world of a vanished eye;
Oft printed twice through e'ery pouring shadow:
Of thy unattended presence to illumine more bright
Than if from a bowl of stars you drink:
I fain would bring to the page of solemn strain this barren rhyme,
Against all odds, all vicissitudes of the sky;
Unaccounted for love of thy most high deserts
To a star-lit night that abides by thee alone.
