Open Source V1.0 Poem by Dean Meredith

Open Source V1.0

It's really quite easy
And really quite hard
And sounding seemingly plausible
To my cute little former friend
As I tried to explain
After a few...
Magnetism is the key
With flying saucers
Ok let's break it down
The universe is a series
Of spinning spheres
In a vacuum
Otherwise known as space
Each is a glorified magnet
Attracting and repelling
With each pole
Step 1...
Recreate spinning spheres
Magnets in a vacuum
Step 2...
Apply it to flying saucers
Tiny magnets
Within a huge system
Program the magnetic forces
Based on mass and distance
Using a super-computer
Step 3...
Imagine a gyroscope
The outside spins
Around a magnetic core
This is your flying saucer
Resembling Saturn
With a ring for stability
Step 4...
Program the super-computer
To flip the polarity
As a form of propulsion
Through the vacuum
And also as a breaking mechanism
Use the larger planets
And the suns
As power sources
Step 5...
Chart the relative forces
Magnetic attractions
Between suns and planets etcetera
Save it
Step 6...
Literally bounce between planets etcetera
Like a pinball machine
Using polarity as the flippers
Remember to super-cool the magnets
For maximum potential energy
Step 7...
Factor in atmospheres
Consider combinations
Of nuclear and solar
With the magnetism
Electrics and computing
Are compulsory for now
