Onyx Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Onyx

Onyx, on, ox!
To rule all the native with a rod of iron;

Vail, prevail!
Day and night;

Engaged, enraged!
Bruised reed;

Axe, wax!
Smoking flax;

Life,
With your works;

To bring forth judgement in truth,
Teaching you the ways of life.
