Only To Think Poem by Ankoku Gekido

Only To Think

It only takes one thought to spur an emotion
It only takes one person to stir several
And to think
Of one person to tell a lie so grand
It hurt you deeper than ever
To think someone so close to you
Died a mysterious death
Only for you to find later
That lie which brought you to tears
That lie which made you die inside
Was proven a lie
That that person was indeed alive
Alive and doing quite well
He had forgotten about you totally
Not even feeling bad for the fact that they made you die with their lie
Not even remembering how much you loved them
But living a completely different and happy life
To think one person could cause so much pain
Anger
Anguish
Sadness
Yet also cause relief
Happiness
Joy
Even though he lied to me
Even though he abandoned me when I needed him most
I am so relieved
To find him alive
To find he is happy
Yet I am hurt deeper than ever
For he had abandoned me
Faked his death so he could leave me in my torturing life
He killed me with no remorse
If I saw him again would he remember me?
If I talked to him would he realize who I am
Would he remember how he made me laugh
Or how I would cling to him for safety
Would he remember the words I couldn’t pronounce right
Would he remember how I tried so hard to make him happy
Would he remember how much I love him?
Would he remember at all little old me
Who has grown into someone completely different
Who has mourned him and thought about him constantly?
Only to think a man would be capable of causing so much
With one action
If only a person was as glimpsing as a thought
