Only A Handful Poem by JOSEPH MABIJA

Only A Handful

The friends I have is only a handful
The price & credit, I’d say a handful
I have people in my heart for real
Those who might not know they are my heart’s chosen few
But they are only a handful
My hopes, wishes & dreams are not extreme
As long as I can look directly to my daughter’s eyes
It is even less than a handful
I curse fools even when they can save my life
Im not living to live but for a cause
A handful of soil I threw on top of my father’s closed casket
As they read dust to dust from the holly history book
A handful of demons singing in celebration
I hate those who hate me and love those who love me in the process
Why must I lie? , you can never fool god, it was written,
Only a handful steps & the dead comes back to life
It’s a good feeling to denounce the gods & silence them
I heard the noise the silence & handful of questions
Love is quite a handful so I’d rather just like
