One Worthy Of A Toast Poem by Francis Duggan

One Worthy Of A Toast

I know of a woman Mary Knights Rutten is her name and she resides at grand old Ferny Creek
And those who know her say how marvellous she is and in glowing terms of her only speak
In the Dandenong Ranges a renowned cello player you mention her by name and people say
This lovely woman is blessed with a rare talent one could listen to her play all night and day.

For her sixtieth birthday she's having a get together and this milestone in her life she'll celebrate
And her friends and family they will come to toast her and they will party on with her 'til late
And her birthday is one worth celebrating for she is one who in her has much good,
A gentle soul a fly she would not harm and she would only help you if she could.

In her life Mary Knights Rutten has reached a milestone and to her we will raise the glass of cheer
And who would not wish to be at such a party and may 03 be her happiest ever year
I always have admired the quiet achievers and of her achievements Mary does not boast
And she is well loved in the Yarra Ranges and she is one well worthy of a toast.

In this World there ought to be more like Mary the bright side of humanity she embrace
And the Dandenongs is better for her presence she adds so much to this great cultural place
And may her sixtieth birthday be one she remembers and in life may she enjoy more success
And every time she plays her violoncello she brings to others so much happiness.
