One Way Window Poem by Juvela Obi

One Way Window

One way window
You can see through
To find me
But I can’t see you

The door to my house
Is my heart
Without the key
You are locked out

My hands, the stove
Burning with rage
My hatred and fear
Change with age

My mouth is a wall
Blinds you with lies
What can you see
In my eyes?

You can look
Through my window
Watch as I walk
See the ghosts follow

I can’t see
Outside my house
This is my world
I can’t get out

While you are locked out
I am locked in
The outside world
I’ve never seen

One way window
You can see through
To find me
But I can’t see you
