One Sunny Day Poem by tori trentacoste

One Sunny Day

Rating: 5.0

It was a warm sunny day,
about the middle of July.
I went to the beach off the coast of the O.C.
The sand was warm,
The sun shining in the clear blue sky,
Felt like a blanket of warmth draped over me.
I could hear the children,
Screaming with joy, so young and alive.
The birds were screaming with hunger,
sailing gracefully over the calming waters.
Listening to the crashing waves
Hitting the soft, warm, sand,
Carried by the ocean breeze
sending a salty smell into the sky.
So heavy I can taste it. As
The day carried my troubles away
with the waves and the wind,
All the stress dissipates into waves
Of relaxation and happiness.
