One Moment In Time Poem by Annette Aitken

One Moment In Time

One Moment In Time

Amid the darkness of the forest
there stood a lone tree it's
bark injured with carvings of
love hearts initials
declaring undying love.

Partially smothered with
deep green moss engulfing
twisting itself like a
fox-fur collar protecting it's
master from the wind.

Glowing in the shadows of the
surrounding tree's as the early
sunrise hits it's ray's upon it
like a spotlight to a star on stage
surrounded by a field of serenity.

In that instant, all is well with the world.
No war.
No disasters.
No famine.
Just peace.

Then the clouds came rolling in.

'bark injured with carvings of love hearts initials declaring undying love. Partially smothered with deep green moss engulfing twisting itself like a fox-fur collar protecting it's master from the wind' wonderfully written loved this exquisite poem, maybe it was my initials carved in a tree

Love injures, a pleasant wound But we addicts never learn Seeking new poisons in the greens Then with new aches to later burn.......... Great poem of yours madam, I invite you to my page too for critical comments please......
