One Last Time For Goodbye Poem by rachel dusek

One Last Time For Goodbye

All these people crowded together like a heard in a small room for you.
Some shedding tears not daring to look up.
Others gripping on to their chairs for dear life.
The floor cried from the weight of the people moving about.
I didn't dare look up; I didn't dare look in the casket where you lay.
"It's time." My dad's sad voice stated
I was frozen, this would be the last time I ever see this casket.
Slowly, I rose.
The casket now closed, signaling your final goodbye from the world.
My older cousins surrounded it, ready to go.
One last time,
One last tear,
"I love you grandpa"
