One Last Look Poem by ARUNA LAKRA

One Last Look

This street so familiar
Smell same as earlier
How do I not knock
Knowing my world
Once belonged there
I was a bane to all
My heart weary and sore
That moonless night
The door slammed on my sight
I am puzzled
Why my feet tread here
Destiny was far from near
My eyes fraudulent
My mind vigilant
My heart so innocent
Fate vulnerable
Strength innumerable
But alas body not durable
My last days are countable..
One last glimpse..
Of the one
Who snatched my million reasons to live
But gifted one reason to die
